FILLMORE, Utah (AP) — Utah Highway Patrol officials say they suspect alcohol was involved in a crash that killed two Arizona men over the weekend.
Troopers say 32-year-old Melvin Bryant and 39-year-old Murphy Mountain died after being thrown from a vehicle late Sunday night.
Authorities say a citizen called to report a possibly drunken driver on Interstate 15 in Millard County, near Cove Fort. About 15 minutes later, the witness reported seeing the vehicle swerve, overcorrect and roll about 3 ½ times.
Sgt. Todd Royce says troopers were not able to catch up with the vehicle before it crashed.
One man was dead on the scene, while the second man died after being airlifted to a hospital in Provo. Troopers say neither was wearing a seatbelt.
