SANDLERTON — Adam Sandler has made some pretty awful movies over the years. If you have made it all the way through “Jack and Jill,” “Grown Up’s 2” and “You Don’t Mess with the Zohan” then you are a more tolerant person than most.

Going into “Blended,” I was expecting it to be the same mess as his last few films. To be totally honest, however, I didn’t hate it and was actaully able to get through the whole movie. That being said, it's still not a great movie, it's just an OK one.

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore team up again for this romantic comedy as two single parents that go on a blind date together and end up despising each other. Through some lucky coincidences they find themselves stuck together at a resort for families in Africa, where their attraction grows as their respective kids benefit from the blossoming relationship.

Once again, Sandler and Barrymore show they have chemistry on film as they did in "The Wedding Singer” and “50 First Dates.”

That chemistry is what actually carries most of the film.

Throughout the film Sandler's regular "buddies" pop up from time to time and some of them are reprising roles from earlier Sandler films.

The film provides laughs here and there and it also carries a sweetness with it as we watch families coming together while providing some positive messages along the way.

Where “Blended” went wrong was the overall tone. It looked like it was going to be more of a family film, which at times it very much is, but it also has a lot of inappropriate moments for kids. What's sad is without those moments it could have been a really fun movie for the whole family.

“Blended” has the courage to take on “X-Men: Days of Future Past” at the box-office this weekend, and although it has no chance at winning that battle, it's likely it will pull in a decent haul.

If there's one thing we have learned over the years it's that any movie with Sandler in it will make money. This one is not worth seeing in the theaters, but it is funny enough and watchable enough to warrant a rental someday.
