LAS VEGAS (AP) — Classes were canceled today after a two-alarm fire damaged solar panels and the roof of a Las Vegas private school. Students and staff members safely evacuated and no injuries were reported in the fire yesterday afternoon at Faith Lutheran Middle School. KSNV-TV reported that damage was estimated at $60,000.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Developers have announced a new name and an opening date for a once-stalled open-air mall in the master-planned Las Vegas community of Summerlin. The Howard Hughes Corporation says that the "Shops at Summerlin Centre" project has been renamed "Downtown Summerlin," and will open October 9.

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) — A Las Vegas man has been convicted of sexually abusing boys while he was a youth leader at a church in Maryland in the 1980s. Prosecutors in Maryland say 56-year-old Nathaniel Morales worked with youth ministries and conducted Bible studies for Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg. He was accused of abusing three boys from 1983 to 1991 at group sleepovers and in their homes.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Mountain West Conference says it's moving Fresno State's football game at UNLV to Oct. 10 for a Friday night matchup to be televised nationally by CBS Sports Network. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Sam Boyd Stadium. The game originally had been scheduled for Oct. 11.
