CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) -- Cedar City residents will meet Tuesday night at Cedar High School to discuss a proposed pipeline that would bring water from Lake Powell to the city.

The project would cost $500 million and feed water into Washington, Kane and Iron counties.

District engineers say the project is needed because Cedar City is using up more water than it is receiving each year. But opponents say Cedar City's part of the bill could be as much as $200 million.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m.
