BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A federal judge says she will decide soon if Idaho's ban on same-sex marriage violates the U.S. Constitution. Judge Candy Dale told attorneys for four couples today that she will make her ruling in the relatively near future. Idaho Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter argues that states have the right to define marriage as they see fit.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A 57-year-old Las Vegas man has been sentenced in Boise to more than five years in prison and ordered to pay $222,000 in restitution for a series of ATM thefts in several western states. A judge sentenced Clarence Lancaster today after he pleaded guilty to a July 2012 ATM theft in Twin Falls.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A Boise man who pleaded guilty to failing to report a motorized scooter crash that critically injured his passenger has been sentenced to a year in jail. The judge also ordered Thomas MacFarlane to spend 20 years on probation for the July 2013 crash that injured 30-year-old Mirika Bideganeta. She suffered a head injury that put her into a coma.

JULIAETTA, Idaho (AP) — A 55-year-old Juliaetta man died over the weekend after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing the street. The Idaho State Police say Stanley Olai Solberg was hit Saturday night by a pickup driven by a 30-year-old Juliaetta man. The man told investigators he didn't see Solberg.
