The eight acrobats and a dancer on the ground were seriously injured. It happened during the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus' Legends show at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The show's general manager says the performers were performing a stunt in which they hang by their hair when they fell 25 to 40 feet.

BELFAST, Northern Ireland (AP) — Police in Northern Ireland say they have released Sinn Fein (shin fayn) leader Gerry Adams without charge after five days of questioning over his alleged involvement in an IRA killing in 1972. But the case isn't over, because the police say they have sent an evidence file to Northern Ireland prosecutors for potential charges later. Adams' release was delayed by an angry Protestant protest outside the gates of the detention center.

WASHINGTON (AP) — New studies from the Center for American Progress and the National Education Association find that U.S. teachers are nowhere near as diverse as their students.
