COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — The board of regents for the Texas A&M University System has approved a $3.8 billion budget that guarantees fixed tuition and fees for students.
The budget approved Thursday establishes the spending plan for 10 of the 11 universities in the system. Regents in January OK'd expenditures for the flagship campus in College Station.
The Eagle of Bryan and College Station reports (http://bit.ly/1fWvaxY ) the measure finalized Thursday includes a combined 6 percent increase in tuition and fees.
Revenue is projected to decrease system-wide by $8.6 million while expenditures are forecast to grow by $30.3 million.
Board approval came with little discussion, but regent Tony Buzbee questioned administrative salaries. He also expressed concern improvements at the Galveston campus weren't being addressed. Regents had previously said the Galveston upgrades were important.
