LOS ANGELES — NBC hosted the first ever "iHeartRADIO Music Awards" in Los Angeles, where musicians are received awards based completely on votes sent in through social media.

Fans sent in 13 million votes through Twitter and Facebook to vote for the musicians that most impact their lives. But country artist Luke Bryan said the fans have a big impact on him too.

Performances included Katy Perry, Blake Shelton, Shakira, Usher, Pharrell and many more.

Winners included Rhianna for Best Fan Army and Best Hip Hop/R&B Song of the Year, and Pit Bull feat. Kesha for Best Collaboration.

Local band Imagine Dragon was nominated for 4 awards. They won Best Alt Rock Song of the Year for their song "Demons."
