A run scoring single by Mike Eylward in the fifth inning put Salt Lake ahead to stay, as the Bees edged the Fresno Grizzlies 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon. After one out, Howie Kendrick and Nick Gorneault singled to set the table for Eylward, who grounded a single to left to bring home Kendrick to give Salt Lake a 3-2 lead. Kendrick had given Salt Lake a 2-1 lead with a two run double in the third. Nathan Bland (2-2), Matt Wilhite, Jason Bulger and Greg Jones combined for four and one-third scoreless innings of relief to hold on to the one run lead.

2005 Cy Yound Award winner Bartolo Colon went four and two-third innings in his rehab start for the Bees and allowed two runs on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Colon threw eighty-two pitcher, forty-nine for strikes. Maicer Izturis went 0-for-4 in what was likely his final rehab appearance, while Darin Erstad did not play.
