NEW YORK (AP) — Miss Da Point rallied for a second straight convincing win at Aqueduct in the $62,000 allowance feature for New York bred fillies and mares on Friday.
The 4-year-old favorite trained by John Toscano Jr. beat a similar field late last month by 3¼ lengths. The margin this time was 2¼ lengths as she rallied four-wide into the stretch with Emmanuel Esquivel aboard. The time was 1:36.83 for the mile on a fast track.
Miss Da Point improved to 9 for 24, paying $3.40, $2.40 and $2.10. Carameaway was second, with stablemate Dreaming of Cara third. The entry paid $2.20 and $2.10.
In a later race, Market Blaster stumbled at the start and unseated rider Inoel Beato, who was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, complaining of shoulder pain. The horse escaped serious injury and continued to run with the pack.
