(KSL News) -- Smoke forced students at Westland Elementary in West Jordan out of their classrooms this morning.
The school principal says the custodian saw smoke in a hallway when he opened the school for classes. Firefighters say a burned-out motor from an air conditioner caused the smoke.
Crews checked classrooms for high levels of carbon monoxide and allowed children to play outside until it was safe.
