Watson wins second Masters

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Bubba Watson has earned his second green jacket in three years by taking advantage of a two-hole turnaround at the Masters on Sunday.

Watson was three shots behind third-round co-leader Jordan Spieth (speeth) early in the final round and trailed by two before things changed during the eighth and ninth holes. That's where Spieth carded consecutive bogeys while Watson birdied each hole, giving the 2012 champion a lead he wouldn't relinquish.

Watson closed with a 3-under 69 for an 8-under total, three strokes ahead of Jonas Blixt and Spieth. Blixt was the only player to shoot below par in each round at Augusta National.

Miguel Angel Jimenez finished fourth, four shots off the pace and two ahead of Rickie Fowler and Matt Kuchar (KOO'-chur).

NBA-SCHEDULE

Pacers back on top

UNDATED (AP) — The Indiana Pacers have reduced their magic number to one for clinching the top seed in the NBA's Eastern Conference. The Pacers are a half-game ahead of Miami following a 102-97 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Lance Stephenson had 17 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds for his team-record fifth triple-double. Paul George finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while David West added 21 points for the Pacers.

League leading scorer Kevin Durant dropped in 38 for the Thunder.

The Pacers will wrap up home-court advantage throughout the conference playoffs with a season-ending victory at Orlando, or if Miami loses one of its last two games. The Heat visit Washington on Monday and host Philadelphia two nights later.

In other NBA play:

— DeMar DeRozan scored 14 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter of Toronto's 116-107 win over Detroit. Toronto tied the franchise record with its 47th win of the season. The Raptors have won ten of their last 14 games.

— Mirza Teletovic (MEER'-zah teh-LEH'-toh-vihch) scored a team-high 20 points and Joe Johnson and Mason Plumlee each added 17 as Brooklyn downed Orlando 97-88. Deron Williams had 16 points, five assists and four steals to help the Nets move two games ahead of Washington Wizards for the fifth seed in the East.

— Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 20 points and New York ended Chicago's seven-game winning streak by topping the Bulls 100-89. Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith each had 17 points for the Knicks.

MLB-SCHEDULE

Brewers continue to win

UNDATED (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers own the majors' best record at 10-2 and are off to their best start since they opened 13-0 in 1987.

The Brewers ran their winning streak to nine straight by stifling the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-1. Kyle Lohse (lohsh) came within one out of a complete game, allowing four hits while striking out nine. He fanned five straight over the seventh and eighth innings and retired 12 straight before leaving the game following a single by Andrew McCutchen.

Aramis (ah-RAH'-mihs) Ramirez drove in a run and scored once to back Lohse.

In other major league action:

— Justin Upton and Freddie Freeman each hit a two-run homer to lead Atlanta to a 10-2 win and three-game sweep over Washington. Upton and Freeman connected off of Gio Gonzalez, who entered the game with a 2-0 record and 0.75 ERA.

— San Francisco beat Colorado 5-4 on Brandon Crawford's leadoff homer in the bottom of the 10th. Pablo Sandoval homered and Angel Pagan drove in two runs for the Giants.

— Adrian Gonzalez homered for the fourth consecutive game as the Dodgers outscored the Diamondbacks 8-6 to complete a three-game sweep. Gonzalez launched a three-run shot in the third inning, giving him 10 RBIs in the series.

— Matt Carpenter drove in three runs to lead St. Louis to a 6-4 win over the Chicago Cubs 6-4. Carpenter hit a two-run single in the second inning and added a sacrifice fly in the fourth that put St. Louis ahead to stay at 4-3.

— Chris Heisey hit his first grand slam to propel Cincinnati to a 12-4 win over Tampa Bay. Devin Mesoraco homered and drove in a career high four runs, and Joey Votto (VAH'-toh) hit a two-run home run to help the Reds salvage the final game of the series.

— Mike Trout, Albert Pujols (POOO'-hohlz) and Raul Ibanez (ih-BAHN'-yehz) hit consecutive home runs off Bartolo Colon in the first inning of the Angels' 14-2 laugher over the New York Mets in Anaheim. C.J. Wilson two runs and six hits while striking out nine in seven innings.

— Tyson Ross limited Detroit to a run and six hits in seven innings to pitch San Diego to a 5-1 win over the Tigers. Jedd Gyorko (JER'-koh) and Xavier Nady (NAY'-dee) homered off AL Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer, who's still seeking his first win of the year after surrendering four runs in five innings.

— Hot-hitting Chase Utley connected for the tie-breaking home run in Philadelphia's 4-3 win over Miami. Utley had three hits to raise his average to .500 through ten games. The five-time All-Star has three homers and 10 RBIs.

— Mark Buehrle (BUR'-lee) allowed one run over seven innings to win his third straight start as Toronto blasted Baltimore 11-3. The left-hander has allowed only two runs in 21 innings this season for a 0.86 ERA. Jose Bautista, Colby Rasmus and Brett Lawrie homered for the Blue Jays.

— Pitcher Wade Davis made a wild flip home on a comebacker in the eighth inning, allowing the tying and winning runs to score in Minnesota's 4-3 win over Kansas City for a three-game sweep.

— Yoenis Cespedes (yoh-EH'-nehs SEHS'-peh-dehs) snapped a scoreless tie by belting a two-run homer in the eighth inning of Oakland's 3-0 shutout of Seattle. Starting pitchers Scott Kazmir and Chris Young each tossed six scoreless innings.

— The White Sox blew a 2-1 lead in the ninth before Alexei Ramirez hit a walk-off, two-run homer off John Axford to give Chicago a 4-3 win over Cleveland. Marcus Semien also homered for the White Sox, who took three of four from the Indians after dropping their previous 14 meetings.

— Martin Perez scattered five hits over eight innings to lead Texas over Houston 1-0. The left-hander walked three, but was backed by four double-plays. Donnie Murphy's sacrifice fly in the sixth scored the only run of the game.

MLB-MOVES

Disabled lists grow

UNDATED (AP) — Washington has placed third baseman Ryan Zimmerman on the 15-day disabled list with a broken right thumb. He was injured diving back into second base trying to avoid being picked off in Saturday's loss to Atlanta.

Zimmerman is expected to miss between four to six weeks. He scheduled to see a hand specialist at the Cleveland Clinic Monday. , was injured in the fifth inning Saturday while diving back to second base and getting picked off.

Elsewhere around the majors:

— Tampa Bay has put right-hander Alex Cobb on the 15-day disabled list with a strained oblique in his left side. Cobb pitched seven innings in a 1-0 win over Cincinnati on Saturday. He's gone 15-1-3 innings without allowing a run.

— The Toronto Blue Jays have placed second baseman Maicer Izturis (may-SEER' ihz-TOOR'-is) on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left knee. He suffered the injury in Sunday's win over Baltimore.

— The Texas Rangers have put third baseman Adrian Beltre (BEHL'-tray) on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to Wednesday. Beltre hasn't played since coming out of Tuesday's game at Boston with a strained left quad.

— The Brewers have placed right-hander Brandon Kintzler on the 15-day disabled list with a strained rotator cuff. Kintzler had pitched five innings without an earned run in five appearances.

— Reds starter Mat Latos has been diagnosed with a strained right forearm and won't be allowed to throw for 10-14 days. It's a setback for Cincinnati's No. 2 starter who has been trying to come back from surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left knee on Feb. 14.

— White Sox manager Robin Ventura says outfielder Avisail Garcia will have his season-ending shoulder surgery on Tuesday. He was injured trying to make a diving catch Wednesday at Colorado.

NHL-SCHEDULE

Blues lose, hand Central to Avs

UNDATED (AP) — St.Louis' late season slide has cost them the NHL Central Division title. The Blues dropped a 3-0 decision to Detroit for their sixth straight loss. That handed the division title to Colorado, which closes out its season at Anaheim tonight.

Petr Mrazek turned aside 23 shots to hand the Blues their second straight shutout and third in six games. Justin Abdelkader (AB'-dul-kay-dur) scored twice for the Red Wings.

In other NHL season finales:

— Tampa Bay has wrapped up home-ice advantage for their first-round playoff series against Montreal by edging Washington 1-0 in a shootout. Matthew Carle scored the only goal in the shootout to help the Lightning clinch second place in the Atlantic Division.

— Martin Brodeur made 16 saves in what might have been the last start in a 20-year career with the Devils in a 3-2 win over Boston. The soon-to-be 42-year-old Brodeur is in the final year of his contract and is likely to test the free-agent market now that he has become the backup to Cory Schneider.

— Eric Staal scored the only goal of the shootout to give Carolina a 6-5 season-closing win over Philadelphia in a wide open affair that saw the two teams record a combined 82 shots on goal. Staal also scored twice in regulation.

— Kyle Turris scored once in regulation and again in a shootout as Ottawa outlasted Pittsburgh 3-2. Turris and Mark Stone each had power-play goals against the Penguins, who limp into the playoffs after going 7-7-3 over their last 17 games.

— Brock Nelson scored the tying goal with 3:46 left in regulation before netting the lone shootout goal in the New York Islanders' 4-3 win at Buffalo.
