PHOENIX (AP) — Yasiel Puig was back in the Los Angeles Dodgers' lineup Friday night after being sidelined with a sprained left thumb.

Puig was hurt in a headfirst slide into first base against San Francisco last Saturday. He missed the next two games, then pinch hit Wednesday against Detroit and struck out on three pitches.

Puig was booed roundly as he batted second in Friday night's game at Arizona, and he grounded out to the shortstop.

In the crowded Dodgers outfield, Matt Kemp was the odd man out but was expected to be back in the starting lineup against left-hander Wade Miley on Saturday night.

Los Angeles' other two outfielders, Carl Crawford and Andre Ethier, are left-handed batters.
