Marc Giauque reportingEver tried to talk your way out of a ticket? A new survey claims it's less common than you may think.

Response Insurance says, at the most, about one in four motorists try to talk their way out of a ticket when pulled over. It says they're likely to be people who make more money than others, people who've been talking on their cell phone, are higher educated and who are men.

The result brought mixed reactions from several motorists.

"I think they're, um, more sneaky that way, I don't know."

"Women are wusses, we're usually wimps and think we can."

Local police say to forget arguing or making excuses. They say honesty is often the best way to get them to issue a warning instead of a ticket.
