National Safety Council honors Owens Corning with the 2014 Green Cross

for Safety medal

ITASCA, Ill., April 11, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National

Safety Council presented Owens Corning with the Green Cross for Safety

medal at its 15th annual fundraising dinner in Atlanta last night. The

dinner honored Owens Corning for its steadfast commitment to improving

safety and health in the workplace and beyond.

NSC Chairman of the Board of Directors, Jeff Woodbury, presented the

Green Cross for Safety medal to Owens Corning Group President,

Building Materials, Chuck Dana and Owens Corning Group President,

Composite Solutions, Arnaud Genis.

"Receiving the Green Cross for Safety medal honors the dedication of

all of our employees," said Owens Corning Chairman and CEO, Michael H.

Thaman. "We lead from safety, which means our ability to execute on

safety is a primary indicator of how we perform as a company."

Past recipients of the Green Cross for Safety medal include Exxon

Mobil Corporation, Dow Chemical Company, Schneider Electric North

America, Exelon Nuclear, FirstGroup, Delta Air Lines, UPS, DuPont,

Liberty Mutual Group, Chrysler Group of DaimlerChrysler, Kenny

Construction Company, Ryder System Inc., Intel Corporation and AK

Steel.
