(KSL News) It's pretty much the same, except the name. Salt Lake City's domestic partner registry has now been re-christened the "Mutual Commitment Registry."
The program will allow residents who live together and rely on one another as dependents to register with the city, allowing businesses who want to offer insurance benefits to such pairs a legitimate option to do so.
The Legislature almost quashed the program during January's session but in the end decided to let it stand as long as the name was changed.
