Dr. Chris Balgobin joins GLI as medical director and will oversee patient operations, serve in a research and development role, and foster GLI’s advancement of the SMP industry by establishing standards for best practices. He is a board-certified physician with more than 10 years of medical experience and specializes in the application of cosmetic procedures in a clinical setting.

“The presence of a medical director is unprecedented in the relatively young SMP industry, where distinguishing credible providers can be difficult,” said Marshall Charloff, GLI president and CEO. “We’re excited that Dr. Balgobin has joined our team, where his robust expertise ensures clients receive a high-touch experience and signifies the strides GLI is making toward setting industry standards for safety and authenticity.”

GLI offers patients with alopecia, male pattern baldness, scarring and other forms of hair loss a permanent, cosmetic solution for hair replacement through its proprietary SMP process. Under the guidance of Dr. Balgobin, patients will receive clinical consultation, and pre- and post-procedure care.

“From the perspective of a physician, and as a GLI patient, I can truly speak to the professionalism and quality of its SMP procedure,” said Dr. Balgobin. “I’m eager to play a part in the evolution of this process in a growing industry that warrants medical oversight to guarantee authenticity that’s accessible to all.”
