ISTANBUL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar 27, 2014--Turkcell (NYSE:TKC) (BIST:TCELL), Turkey’s leading telecommunications and technology company, received the world’s most prestigious corporate procurement certification. Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) granted Turkcell Group’s Finance Procurement department with CIPS Corporate Procurement Certificate following an evaluation of its structure and practices.
Turkey’s first CIPS-certification company
CIPS analyzed Turkcell Group Finance Procurement department according to 110 criteria under five headings: Leadership and Organization, Strategy, People, Process and Systems, and Performance Management. After an evaluation period of 6 months, Turkcell received the certification, making it the first Turkish company to have qualified for this prestigious award.
Turkcell meets the highest international standards
The awarding of the certification places Turkcell among a very select group of companies internationally. Currently, there are only 127 companies globally that hold this certificate.
It also serves as further proof of Turkcell’s compatibility with the highest international standards in finance. As the only Turkish company listed on the NYSE, Turkcell sets the bar high in its procurement practices, maintaining the principles of transparency, consistency and fairness as benchmarks of good management.
