BRISTOL, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar 17, 2014--Barnes Group Inc. (NYSE:B), an international industrial and aerospace manufacturer and service provider, today announced the appointment of Scott A. Mayo to the position of Senior Vice President, Barnes Group Inc. and President, Barnes Industrial, effective immediately.
As President of Barnes Group’s Industrial segment, Mr. Mayo will lead all of the company’s diverse industrial businesses across the globe. “Scott’s 20 plus years of experience in growing engineered products businesses, as well as his strong knowledge of global markets, and significant expertise in sales, marketing and new product development, make him an excellent choice to strengthen and lead our Industrial segment,” said Patrick Dempsey, President and Chief Executive Officer, Barnes Group Inc. "I am confident that his experience and talents will drive sustainable, profitable growth and innovation in our Industrial segment and that he will be a great addition to our executive leadership team.”
Before joining Barnes Group, Mr. Mayo was Vice President and General Manager, Power Sector, Flow Control Division at Flowserve Corporation in Irving, Texas. Mr. Mayo joined Flowserve in 2002 and held various positions of increasing responsibility during his tenure there, including: Vice President and General Manager, General Industries Sector, Flow Control Division; Vice President, Marketing, Flow Control Division; General Manager, Flow Control Division, China; Director, Marketing, Flow Control Division, Raleigh, NC; Director and General Manager, Aftermarket, Raleigh, NC; and Director, Strategic Planning and Business Development.
Before joining Flowserve, Mr. Mayo held the role of Vice President, Marketing and Engineered Sales, Flow Control Division, Americas for Invensys PLC.
Mr. Mayo holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Memphis and a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN.
