SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah will soon receive more than eight million dollars from the federal government.
State officials say the money has NOT yet been officially awarded. However, Utah is expected to receive eight-point-27 million dollars from the U-S Department of Homeland Security.
The money will be used for training, equipment, exercises and planning. State leaders say six-point-six (M)million will be given to local agencies.
Utah's share is part of one-point-seven billion dollars being awarded across the country to agencies to handle terrorism incidents and other emergencies.
