LOWELL, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar 11, 2014--M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. (“MACOM”), a leading supplier of high performance RF, microwave, and millimeter wave products, today announced the newest additions to its family of modulator drivers for metro applications at 100G and beyond.

The MAOM-003407 and MAOM-003409 are linear, quad-channel 32 Gbps modulator drivers in small form factor surface mount packages. With these new products, MACOM now offers the complete portfolio for metro applications covering limiting and linear systems using either single-ended or differential modulators.

The MAOM-003409 is a fully differential, quad channel linear driver delivering up to 4Vpp linear output with market leading power dissipation. It is pin compatible with the previously announced MAOM-003404 limiting driver to enable a common board design across system platforms. Both parts are optimized for use with available Indium Phosphide and Silicon optical modulators requiring differential drive voltages and provide the lowest power and smallest form factor driver solution for coherent CFP and CFP2 modules.

The MAOM-003407 is a quad-channel linear driver with differential input and single-ended output for use with Indium Phosphide and Lithium Niobate optical modulators requiring single-ended drive voltages. This linear driver is pin-to-pin compatible with the previously announced MAOM-003405 for limiting applications. Both parts offer ultra-low power dissipation and are also ideal for coherent CFP and CFP2 modules.

“We are very excited to introduce these linear driver solutions for metro applications” said Vikas Manan, MACOM’s Engineering Director for Optoelectronics. “MACOM’s portfolio enables the next wave of growth in 100G through lower cost pluggable CFP and CFP2 modules”.

Samples of MAOM-003404, MAOM-003405, MAOM-003407 and MAOM-003409 are available today and are being demonstrated at OFC 2014 in San Francisco this week. Please visit booth 2203 at OFC and www.macom.com for more information.
