Grand Canyon edges Texas-Pan American in OT 79-78

EDINBURG, Texas (AP) — Killian Larson scored 29 points and Grand Canyon barely fended off Texas-Pan American 79-78 in overtime on Saturday night.

After swapping leads throughout the second period, Grand Canyon (15-14, 10-6 ) led 67-64, after making two free throws with 11 seconds to play. But Justin Leathers sank a Broncs 3-pointer 8 seconds later, sending the game to OT.

Grand Canyon scored first in overtime and led by three with 24 seconds to play. The Antelopes made only 2-of-6 free throws in those final seconds, allowing TX-PA a shot at the win, but Hurley Johnson missed the back-end of two free throws and Josh Cleveland missed a jumper at the buzzer.

Texas-Pan American TX-PA (9-22, 5-11) jumped out to a 9-0 lead, but Grand Canyon got it all back, tying the score at 23 at intermission.

Shaquille Hines scored 21 and Shaquille Boga notched 20 points for the Broncs.
