FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) — Derrick Colter pumped in 21 points as Duquesne rolled to an 81-69 win at George Mason Saturday night to claim the No. 10 seed into the Atlantic 10 tournament.
Duquesne faces the No. 7 seed on Thursday. The loss sends No. 12 seed George Fox into an opening round game Wednesday against No. 13 Fordham.
The Dukes closed out the first half with a 13-2 run, taking a nine-point lead into intermission, then opened the second half by hitting three straight, unanswered 3-pointers.
Ovie Soko scored 18 points, going 8 of 13 from the free throw line, for Duquesne (13-16, 5-11 Atlantic 10). L.G. Gill added 16 points and Micah Mason and Dominique McKoy added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Sherrod Wright scored 25 points to lead George Mason (11-19, 4-12), with Bryon Allen adding another 17 points.
