ABILENE, Texas (AP) — Denzel Livingston scored 21 points as Incarnate Word held on to defeat Abilene Christian 59-56 on Saturday.

Incarnate Word led by as many as nine before James Pegues scored 10 straight points to get Abilene Christian within four, 55-51 with 2:03 remaining. Julian Edmonson scored to pull the Wildcats within two before Kyle Hittle made a layup and two free throws to ice it for the Cardinals.

Livingston entered the game needing 18 points, and now has 548, to become the single-season leader since Incarnate Word joined the NCAA in 1999. Pierce Caldwell scored 544 points in 2009-10.

Anthony Horton added 20 points for Incarnate Word (21-6, 9-5 Southland), which has won five of its last six games.

Parker Wentz scored 17 points and had five steals to lead Abilene Christian (11-20, 2-12) which has lost three straight. Pegues finished with 12 points.
