Northeastern beats Drexel 90-81 in CAA quarters

BALTIMORE (AP) — Scott Eatherton scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as fifth-seeded Northeastern beat fourth-seeded Drexel 90-81 on Saturday in the quarterfinals of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament.

Zach Stahl added 19 points, David Walker scored 18 and T.J. Williams had 12 for Northeastern (11-20), which shot 51.9 percent from the field. Stahl also grabbed 12 rebounds as the Huskies held a 42-31 rebounding advantage over Drexel (16-14).

Northeastern went on a 13-2 run in the in the first half to take a 33-17 lead just before halftime and led by double digits for most of the second half.

Chris Fouch led Drexel with 30 points while Frantz Massenat added 19 for the Dragons, who lost to Northeastern for the second time in eight days. The Huskies topped Drexel 54-52 on Mar. 1.

Northeastern will play top-seeded Delaware in the semifinals on Sunday.
