ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Peter Hooley scored a career-high 30 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead fourth-seeded Albany to an 86-56 rout of fifth-seeded Maryland Baltimore County in the America East tournament quarterfinals Saturday.
Hooley finished 12 of 16 from the field.
Sam Rowley added 15 points on 6 of 7 shooting for the defending champion Great Danes (16-14), who face top-seeded Vermont (22-9) in a semifinal on Sunday — a rematch of last year's title game.
Rodney Elliot and Quentin Jones scored 18 apiece for the Retrievers (9-21), who never led.
The Great Danes shot 56 percent from the floor, including 11-20 from beyond the arc, and set a season high for points.
UMBC — which dressed only seven players, with three suspended for team violations — lost its sixth straight and finished the season 1-16 on the road.
The teams split their two prior meetings this season by a combined three points.
