KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Search and rescue crews are scouring waters between Malaysia and Vietnam today, searching for some sign of a missing Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 239 people aboard. Some Americans are reported to be among the passengers. The plane disappeared without warning less than an hour after leaving Malaysia for Beijing.

SEVASTOPOL, Ukraine (AP) — Moscow is keeping the pressure on Ukraine with denunciations of the new government and efforts by pro-Russian soldiers to dislodge Ukrainian troops from bases in Russia-friendly Crimea. Russia is ignoring international threats of sanctions for its actions.

ISLAMABAD (AP) — The deaths of nearly two dozen children in Pakistan has the attention of authorities there. Officials are investigating whether malnutrition is responsible for the deaths in the country's drought-hit desert south.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama's weekly media message is a push for an increase in the minimum wage to $10.10. Obama says he's heard from business owners across the country who are voluntarily paying more than the current federal minimum $7.25 an hour. For the Republicans Ohio Sen. Rob Portman focuses on a budget proposal he says taxes and spends too much.

OXON HILL, Md. (AP) — The nation's largest annual gathering of conservative activists wraps up today outside Washington with a couple more headliners at the podium. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin are featured speakers at the Conservative Political Action Conference, which brings thousands of activists, opinion leaders and Republican officials to suburban Washington.
