WINNSBORO, La. (AP) — A Franklin Parish school bus driver has been arrested for driving under suspension after crashing her bus into another vehicle.
Louisiana State Police say troopers responded at 6:40 a.m. Friday to an accident on Louisiana 577 near Hixon Lane. Troop F spokesman, Trooper Albert Paxton, says the bus driver, 52-year-old Janice Norris, of Winnsboro, backed into a 2014 Jeep Compass driven by 43-year-old Amy Bourgeois, also of Winnsboro.
About 30 students were on the bus. No injuries were reported.
Paxton says Norris was arrested and booked into the Franklin Parish Detention Center. She also faces a charge of improper backing.
Authorities say her driver's license was suspended for non-payment of traffic tickets issued from out-of-state.
It was not immediately known if she has an attorney.
