LOS ANGELES (AP) — Street League Skateboarding has signed a three-year deal to have its contests broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 and distributed globally by the Fox networks.

Street League, founded by pro skateboarder and MTV star Rob Dyrdek, is entering its fifth season.

Dyrdek says having a media partner that believes in skateboarding as a stand-alone sport "means the world to our business and the ability to grow the Street League audience moving forward."

The 2014 SLS season will feature the 22 most prolific street skaters in the world, including defending champion Chris Cole, Nyjah Huston, who won the titles in 2010 and 2012, and Sean Malto, who won it in 2011. Also competing will be Ryan Sheckler and Paul Rodriguez.

The 2014 schedule hasn't been announced.
