SAN ANTONIO (AP) — The surging San Antonio Spurs won their fifth in a row by dismantling the Miami Heat 111-87. Tim Duncan had 23 points and 11 rebounds as the Spurs handed the two-time NBA champions their second straight wire-to-wire defeat.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Darrun Hilliard scored 19 points and No. 6 Villanova clinched the outright Big East championship for the first time in 32 years by holding off Xavier 77-70 last night. JayVaughn Pinkston added 15 points for Villanova, which is 27-3 overall and 15-2 in the Big East.

CINCINNATI (AP) — With one game left in the inaugural American Athletic Conference regular season, it's a dead head between No. 15 Cincinnati and No. 11 Louisville. The Bearcats climbed into a tie last night by knocking off 20th-ranked Memphis 97=84 behind Sean Kilpatrick's season-high 24 points.

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts sheriff is seeking a criminal complaint against former NFL star Aaron Hernandez after a recent jail scuffle with another inmate. The former Patriots tight end is in jail held without bail after pleading not guilty to murder in the 2013 death of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, a Boston man dating Hernandez's fiance's sister.

DORAL, Fla. (AP)— Harris English was the overnight leader at the rain-plagued first round of the Cadillac Championship. World No. 1 Tiger Woods got in 10 holes without any apparent recurrence of back woes which caused him to drop out last week and starts the day five shots behind the leader.
