BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A Boise-area hospital and Idaho's largest independent physicians' group are seeking to reverse a federal judge's ruling that their merger violated federal antitrust laws. Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center and the Federal Trade Commission argued that the merger of St. Luke's Health System and Nampa-based Saltzer Medical Group would give them an unfair advantage.
HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Police stopped a member of the Blackfeet tribe from entering the office of Gov. Steve Bullock with a bison heart in a plastic bag. James St. Goddard tells the Independent Record that he was protesting the killing of pregnant bison by the Nez Perce Tribe from Idaho. He was allowed to bring the heart into a meeting with the Governor's Office of Indian Affairs director.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho lawmakers are backing a proposed amendment that could let the Legislature override a governor's veto almost immediately. Under Republican Sen. Steve Vick's proposal, the Speaker of the House and Senate President Pro Tem must agree a rejected bill deserves a second look in order to compel the governor to call a special session.
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Twin Falls officials have approved a $3.5 million expansion of a Greek yogurt plant operated by Chobani. The Times-News reports that the addition to the $450 million plant will add to its packaging and filling rooms on the east side. Company officials say the plant reached a production milestone in December, producing more than 1 million cases of yogurt a week.
