VERNAL, Utah (AP) -- A Vernal family is mourning the loss of a two-year-old girl who drowned during a family camping trip over the weekend.
It happened on Saturday in the remote Book Cliffs area of Uintah County.
Authorities say Brentlee Evans was last seen playing with other children near her family's campsite at Indian Springs. But a short time later, the girl was no where to be found, and a search was launched.
The toddler's mother later found her daughter floating in a water trough. She was then airlifted to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Authorities say their investigation is now complete, and they found no neglect or wrongdoing on the family's part.
