RICHMOND, Va., Feb. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SoftChalk, LLC, a leading

developer of eLearning content authoring platforms, announced today a

new product solution, SoftChalk eBook Builder, will give educators the

"What is ground-breaking about SoftChalk's eBook Builder is that it

gives educators the ability to create their own eBook content. Their

content doesn't have to be just static text and images. SoftChalk will

enable educators to create truly interactive eBooks that include

pop-up annotations, images, video, and interactives such as dragNdrop

matching, flashcards, and other SoftChalk supported activities," said

Sue Evans, CEO of SoftChalk, LLC. Using SoftChalk's eBook Builder,

educators will be able to quickly and easily create their own

interactive eBooks using SoftChalk's authoring products.

"The advantage of an eBook over standard web-based content is that

students can save the eBook directly onto their iPad and access the

content even without a wireless Internet connection," said Evans.

"Students will have the ability to download engaging, interactive

eBook content on their iPads for later access, creating a high quality

mobile learning experience," said Evans. Lessons published with

SoftChalk's eBook Builder will support many of the features currently

available to SoftChalk Cloud and Create users, in addition to the

standard features offered through the iBook app, such as bookmarking,

text highlighting, note-taking, and built-in dictionary.

The initial release of SoftChalk eBook Builder will generate content

that works with Apple's iBooks app, for use on an iPad. Following this

initial release for iPad, SoftChalk plans to expand its eBook Builder

functionality to be compatible on other devices and e-reader

applications.

"We are very excited to announce this game-changing interactive, eBook

building feature for educators," stated Evans. "As educational

technology evolves, we strive to continue to develop and deliver

cutting-edge eLearning solutions that allow educators to engage their

students and improve student learning."
