CEDAR CITY — A man was killed after he became entrapped in a conveyor belt at CML Metals mines Saturday, according to investigators.

Mark Rowley, 56, died of injuries from an industrial accident involving a conveyor belt, according to the Iron County Sheriff's Office. The accident was reported at about 5:45 p.m. and occurred near 2700 South Comstock Road at the CML Metals mines.

Emergency medical personnel tried to save his life, but were unsuccessful.

The Iron County Sheriff's Office said Rowley's death appears to have been the result of an industrial accident. The Mine Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident.
