WASHINGTON (AP) -- It's unclear whether two Crandall Canyon mine officials will speak before congressional investigators next week as planned.
Bob Murray, CEO of Murray Energy Corp., and Bruce Hill, president of Murray subsidiary and mine operator UtahAmerican Energy, have been subpoenaed to talk about their response to the mine collapse. They have been ordered to give depositions either next week or at their convenience -- but they haven't said when they will appear or whether they will fight the summons, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.
There's no word from the House Education and Labor Committee, which is investigating the disaster.
The collapse killed six miners and three others who attempted to rescue them last August.
