OGDEN — A month after he was officially unveiled as the new football coach at Weber State, Jay Hill has put together as formidable a staff as there is in the Big Sky Conference.
Hill took FCS-playoff participant Southern Utah University’s coordinators, hired one of the University of Utah’s all-time greats to coach the running backs, and has finished the cycle by hiring an offensive line coach that has coached at places as Washington, Boise State, Arizona State and Louisville.
In a statement, Hill announced the hiring of Brent Myers to be the associate head coach at Weber State University. Additionally, Myers will also coach the offensive line.
“Brent brings 33 years of coaching experience to our staff and will be a great help for our program,” Hill said. “He has coached at the highest level of college football and done a great job at each place he’s been, including time spent in the Big Sky Conference.”
Myers comes to Weber State after working for three seasons under former Montana coach Bobby Hauck at UNLV. In 2012, Myers was the offensive coordinator for the Rebels.
Prior to that, Myers coached offensive line at Louisville and Arizona State. He also coached in the Big Sky with tenures at Northern Arizona and Eastern Washington. He last coached in Utah in 2003, serving as the assistant head coach at the University of Utah under Urban Meyer.
Myers played college football at Eastern Washington where he earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees.
