THE LAND OF 10,000 FROZEN LAKES — While we complain about our 20 and 30-degree weather we should be grateful it's not negative 20 or 30 like our friends in the Midwest.
The other day I gave you a Have You Seen This from a man in Wisconsin who loves the cold and gave us some ideas of what you can do in the frigid weather. Today is just the opposite of that video. This is a small family trying to escape the cold.
It turns out there are Have You Seen This fans all the way in Minnesota because Ashley Rutledge sent me this video.
Ashley is originally from Logan, Utah, but she, her husband and their three daughters now live in Minnesota and the self-proclaimed stay-at-home mom says she needs a vacation.
Ashley told me it was so cold that her girls' school was cancelled, so to stay productive they made this video, which is a plea to Ellen DeGeneres to bring them out to her show in sunny California.
"It's our attempt to get on the Ellen show and take a warm vacation to California...to help us have a break from -20!" Ashley wrote in her email to me.
I don't just throw up any video sent to me for a Have You Seen This, but considering I don't do well with the bitter cold my heart went out to Ashley and it turns out her girls are adorable.
I also love the fact that they're committed. These girls don't even care about rug burns as long as it means they get a trip to California. We'd invite you to KSL, but while it's warmer than 20 below it's still a bit nippy in the low 30's.
So, come on Ellen, help out a Have You Seen This fan will ya?
