SALT LAKE CITY — Two new search warrants and a subpoena were made public Tuesday as part of the ongoing investigation into former Utah attorneys general John Swallow and Mark Shurtleff.
In the warrants, a 3rd District judge gave investigators permission to search computers, phones and other electronic devices owned by Tim Lawson, a Provo man described as Shurtleff's "fixer." Lawson remains behind bars after county prosecutors charged him with six felonies, including witness tampering and tax violations.
Investigators also seized photos of Lawson and Shurtleff along with documents related to plea negotiations for imprisoned businessman Marc Sessions Jensen.
The newly released documents also include a subpoena to the Utah State Tax Commission for Lawson's state income tax records from 2008 to 2013 as well the records for his companies, Apple Dumpling Gang Investments and Slipstream International.
Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill and Davis County Attorney Troy Rawlings have been investigating Shurtleff and Swallow for at least a year. To date, nine search warrants and a subpoena have been made public in the case.
