(KSL News) -- The ACLU has dropped its lawsuit regarding Martin's Cove in Wyoming.
Martin's Cove has historic significance to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because tragedy struck the Martin and Willie handcart company of Mormon pioneers there in 1856.
Re-enactments of the pioneer experience are popular for church members and others.
The ACLU filed suit over concerns of a religious organization managing BLM land. It dropped the suit when it became clear the church would do things such as insure convenient access for all visitors, and not use the site for proselyting.
