SANDY ā A man was stabbed multiple times following a confrontation in Sandy.
An estranged couple got into a fight with another man ā a friend of the wife ā in Midvale early Friday morning, according to Sandy police.
The couple left and went to a home near 8000 South and 711 East in Sandy. The other man arrived and the fight continued.
"During that confrontation the estranged husband was stabbed a few times by the other male party," said Sgt. Cory Hess. "The injuries were not life-threatening."
The husband was stabbed four times in the shoulder, stomach, back and abdomen. He was taken to a hospital. Police said the victim was in stable condition Friday.
The argument was over "random things," Hess said, adding that alcohol may have also played a factor.
The suspect was taken into custody and interviewed by detectives.
