WEST VALLEY CITY — Police were looking for three men who they believe robbed a convenience store and assaulted the clerk.
Police were called to the 7-Eleven at 2321 S. Redwood Road at 3:40 a.m. The clerk told them three men entered the store and stole beer, cigarettes and other items, including money, according to West Valley City Police Sgt. Jason Hauer.
One of the men then beat up the clerk, punching her three to four times. She suffered bruising and a cut on her head, Hauer said.
The robbers then fled in a vehicle. No description was immediately available.
Police expected surveillance video from inside the store to provide more information as the investigation continued. Anyone with information can call police at 801-840-4000.
Investigators believe the three men also may have been in the store Wednesday night.
