Marc Giauque reportingIt's the unofficial opening of Summer this weekend, but to many it may feel more like winter. But the weather forecast isn't discouraging many from their getaway plans. In fact, it may help some.

Believe it or not, at least one person was still enjoying the snow. Not far away, at Jordanelle State Park, they're getting ready for the possible return of Winter weather.

Lyle Gingree: "With the forecast coming, were expecting to get our campers in on Friday night, and then the storm rolling in probably slow down for the day use on Saturday and Sunday."

Park Manager Lyle Gingree says it isn't unusual to see cold weather so early in the summer, even after weeks of record warmth, he doesn't expect campers will stay away.

Lyle Gingree: "Every campsite in the park is booked."

Julie Clawson and her family will be booking it out of here today.

Julie Clawson: "We are out here to avoid the crowds."

And they might have the last laugh, leaving not only ahead of the crowds, but just before an expected cold snap on Saturday.

Julie Clawson: "Its been beautiful, the weathers nice, the breeze is cool, and there's no one around.

Her advice to other campers.

Julie Clawson: "I'd tell everyone to join the crowds over Memorial Day so when we come up during the week no one's here."

There won't be much of that this weekend, but Gingree says he's actually exited about the start of the summer season, for now.

Lyle Gingree: "This is our business, so we look really forward to having Memorial Day come, but then about July Fourth and the middle of July it's starting to wear on us a bit.

Park officials say most state campgrounds are full.

If you want one last shot at winter, believe it or not, you can go skiing. Snowbird will open a few lifts for diehard ski-bums over the weekend.
