(KSL News) A man who threatened to blow up Hill Air Force Base has been sentenced.
A judge sentenced William Stiffler to 18 months in prison for sending e-mails threatening to blow up the air base and take hostages if troops weren't pulled from Iraq.
He was also ordered to pay $100,000 for the cost of evacuating and searching the base.
Stiffler has a history of mental illness and says that contributed to his actions. Yesterday in court he apologized to the U.S. government, the base and his family.
