NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The struggle for control of the shuttered Brennan's Restaurant in New Orleans has taken a new turn: A federal appeals court has issued a ruling that essentially puts Theodore "Ted" Brennan and his daughter in charge _ reversing a lower court ruling in favor of Ted's brother, Owen "Pip" Brennan.
Thursday's ruling by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeal dealt with who owns controlling shares among the famously feuding restaurant family.
Ted and Pip are sons of Brennan's founder, Owen E. Brennan, Sr.
The future of the business remains uncertain. Months ago, it lost its Royal Street building, which was bought by a cousin of Ted and Pip at a foreclosure sale.
Also, creditors recently forced the original Brennan's into bankruptcy court.
