SALT LAKE CITY — For the 350 children living in foster care in Utah, Christmas morning might be at an unfamiliar place with little or no presents.
KSL has teamed up with the Adoption Exchange to sponsor as many children as possible so their Christmas morning will be a little brighter.
KSL TV reporter Ashley Kewish took 17-year-old Chelsea shopping.
Like most 17-year-old girls, she already has a Christmas wish list. Monster High dolls, new clothes and CDs are at the top.
"I usually don't get to go shopping for myself," Chelsea said.
While most girls her age hope for a date to the school dance, or a back-to-school wardrobe, Chelsea said she longs for something different.
"When I go to school and I look around at the other kids, I think about how they get to go home to their moms and dads, and I don't," she said.
Although Chelsea is in foster care and doesn't have a permanent home, she excels in school.
"I don't want to end up in a homeless shelter," Chelsea said. "I want to be in a beautiful house."
Thanks to the generous donations, Chelsea was able to get everything on her list.
Although the honor roll student knows tomorrow she'll be back at school, today she just got to be a little more carefree.
