SALT LAKE CITY — KSL first introduced you to Crystal back in October. She was a little girl living in foster care, hoping to be adopted. Well, she is still waiting for that forever family.

Crystal, 18, is a junior in high school and she has a passion for animals. She also has a caring and sensitive nature that she developed in her childhood by caring for her younger siblings.

"In my biological home, I was the mom," Crystal said. "I didn't have someone to comfort me."

The teenage years have been difficult for Crystal. She entered the foster care system five years ago, and has moved 10 times.

"I don't feel like anybody really likes me," Crystal said. "That's why they keep moving me around. I just hope I can find someone that actually likes me and after a couple of months doesn't say, 'Oh, I don't like her. Get rid of her.' "

Crystal said she feels connected to animals because she understands what it means to have to adapt to your surroundings.

"I try to adapt to everything that's going on," Crystal said. "I try to be strong even though it's really hard sometimes."

Despite those hard times, Crystal said she has big plans for the future.

"If I could, I would open a zoo like (Hogle Zoo) and bring them in, all the endangered animals," she said.

Crystal said she would love to share her hopes for the future with a family she could call her own.

"A mom and a dad that care about me, and siblings to have fun with," she said.
