BEAVER, Utah (AP) — A southern Utah ski area will offer $25 lift tickets for its first two days of operation.

Eagle Point will crank up its chair lifts this weekend, a week earlier than planned on plenty of snow.

The ski area 18 miles east of Beaver will operate from Thursday through Sunday throughout the season while staying opening from Dec. 19-Jan. 5.

The resort is slashing its regular $48 adult rate to $25 for anyone on Thursdays and Sundays - the same bargain being offered every day of operation to children, college students, the military, police and firefighters, lodging guests, qualified bus tours and Las Vegas casino workers.

Promotions like that are designed to lure far-away skiers to Eagle Point, halfway between Salt Lake City and Las Vegas.

Other Utah ski areas charge $32 to $108 a day.
