CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Aleighsa Welch scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Wednesday night and three of her teammates also scored in double figures as No. 19 South Carolina handily defeated Clemson 68-43 to remain unbeaten.

Leading the Southeastern Conference with an average of 10.8 rebounds per game, Welch scored 11 points in the first half alone, and drained three 3-pointers in the contest. Tiffany Mitchell scored 14 points and had a game-high five assists, and Khadijah Sessions and Elem Ibiam each had 10 for the Gamecocks (5-0).

Clemson (2-2) scored the opening basket on a layup by Charmaine Tay, but after that it was all South Carolina. The Gamecocks built on their 27-15 halftime advantage to pull away in the second period and finished shooting 45.6 percent from the field compared with Clemson's 29.2 percent.

Chelsea Lindsay led the Tigers with 12 points, including two 3-pointers, and Tay added 11 points.
