NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Comedian Ron White will host CMT's celebration of 2013's top country music stars, making this year's show something of a boys club.
"CMT Artists of the Year" honoring Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Hunter Hayes and Tim McGraw will air live for the first time this year.
John Hamlin, a senior vice president at CMT, says in a Tuesday news release the network is taking "a bit of a risk" signing on White, who's known for off-color comments.
The fourth annual artist of the year show will be held Dec. 3 in Nashville, Tenn. It will feature performances by and for the night's honorees.
