CHICAGO (AP) - No. 2 Michigan State's victory over top-ranked Kentucky is the second most-viewed nonconference college basketball game on ESPN, behind another1-2 matchup.
The Spartans' 78-74 victory Tuesday night in the Champions Classic was watched by more than 4 million people. No. 2 Tennessee's win over No. 1 Memphis on Feb. 23, 2008, averaged nearly 5.3 million viewers.
The network said Wednesday that the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader, which didn't start until nearly 10:30 p.m. EST, drew almost 3 million viewers for Kansas' victory over Duke.
